Course Description

Summer Brass Academy (SBA) is a week-long summer music camp for high school brass players at Portland State University. The Academy provides an immersive learning environment led by world-class brass faculty. Participants will improve their solo and ensemble performance skills, focusing on intonation, technique, tone quality, and musicianship. Participants will be involved in large brass ensembles, master classes, musicianship seminars, warm-up classes, mixed brass ensembles, like ensembles,  preparing a variety of fun and challenging brass literature, culminating with a final Saturday morning showcase concert.
