Course Description

Brain science provides therapists with a way to better understand the consequences of trauma and the potential growth for traumatized clients’ brain, minds, and relationships. We will explore basic brain functioning, body-brain connection, relationships and trauma, client-therapist relationship, pacing in therapy and exploring individual and group modalities and how they relate to brain science findings in treating trauma. The class will integrate clinical neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology with trauma therapy approaches.
