IBPI 110 - Bicycle and Pedestrian-Friendly Site Design

Course Description

Current site design practice typically assumes that users will arrive by car, often creating hostile conditions for those arriving on foot or by bicycle. This course teaches participants how to apply human factors in rethinking and redesigning commercial, civic, office, and light industrial sites so are attractive, safe and convenient for pedestrians and bicyclists.

Topics will include:
- Access Management
- Building orientation
- Parking lot design
- Pedestrian access
- Bicycle access and bicycle parking
- Building design – exterior and interior

The course will include opportunities for interaction and application of concepts in small group exercises.

Recommendations

This 1-day workshop will provide approximately 7 hours of training which equals to 7 CMs or 7 PDHs. IBPI applies to the AICP for Certification Maintenance credit for each course. We will provide an attendance certificate to those who document their professional development hours.
