Course Description

This course is designed for the students having had a satisfactory command of sentence structures and vocabulary in Chinese. The course consists of a variety of themes ranging from business negotiations, business presentations, press conference to economic and business co-operations. Each unit is constitutive of close reading, further reading, shadowing and sight interpretation. Passages in both Chinese and English versions will be dealt with so that students can better understand the difference existing in aspects of practices in commercial field, patterns of thought and skills to reach agreement. By the end of the term, the students are expected to be acquainted with the general business practices current in China, rituals to conform to and procedures involved in reading an international deal.
