Course Description

This course teaches Chen Style Taijiquan / Tai Chi Solo Form - a series of flowing tai chi postures / movements that strengthen the whole body, improve posture and balance, and relaxes and opens the body for healthy qi, or vital energy circulation.  Students will learn the foundation of Tai Chi, including:  how to stand, how to breathe, how to loosen up, how to Silk Reel (continuous tai chi movements), how to stretch your back and how to stand quietly.

Students will learn the foundation of Tai Chi, including:

  • How to stand - align your body with gravity to relax and conserve energy - th key to all tai chi postures and movements.
  • How to breathe - energize your whole body for vibrant health and well being.
  • How to loosen up - restore joint mobility, heal and prevent injuries and degenerative joint disease, and reverse the normal aging process.
  • How to Silk Reel - Tai chi's continually spiraling who body movements enhance circulation and build internal power for health and self defense -- the most complete way to exercise the musculoskeletal system.
  • How to stretch your back  - the simplest exercise to prevent and heal back pain and restore youthful spinal pliability
  • How to stand quietly - align your body and gravity to let go of tension and deeply relax your body and mind.
