Course Description

This three-day course introduces participants to the River Restoration Professional Certificate Program and also serves as a prerequisite for the Restoration Design course. The primary goal of this class is to provide a wide angle view of the constantly evolving science and technology of river restoration, giving you an understanding of the physical science and engineering skills needed to develop and implement a river restoration project. This course is designed for consultants, natural resources managers, regulators, environmental planners, contractors and others that have an interest in river restoration. It is led by Drs. Janine Castro and Sue Niezgoda, national experts and practitioners in river restoration, geomorphology, and river engineering.

This course will be delivered online and synchronous, with a blend of virtual lecture sessions and virtual class activities. The class will take place on March 24, 26 and 28, 2025 from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm PT. The last date to drop this course for a refund is March 9, 2025. Course registration cannot be transferred to another student.
