Course Description

The primary focus of the workshop will be the examination of evidence-based interventions for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The workshop will start with a very brief review of the social communication profile of children with ASD and assessment methods, intended to inform intervention planning, and proceed to discussion of the current evidence base for supporting social communication needs of children with ASD within an interdisciplinary team model. Strategies for intervention implementation will be highlighted. as will the importance of practice-based evidence in determining treatment effectiveness.

  • Identify evidence-based interventions for targeting social communication skills
