BP128 Taking Over Troubled Projects

Course Description

Troubled projects are nothing new, but here's a new and rare opportunity to learn systematic ways to turn someone else's problem into your success. This seminar helps you assess and address the issues of accepting responsibility for ongoing projects that have a pronounced limp or arterial bleeding. We delve into damage appraisal, stakeholder, sponsor, and resource management, as well as leadership using personal experience, case studies, and discussion. You differentiate the symptoms from the causes of a troubled project, prioritize (collaboratively with stakeholders and sponsors) salvageable project outcomes, display leadership qualities useful in righting a project, align existing resources, and capture new resources necessary to maximize the chance of success.

While there is no prerequisite for this course, it is intended for professionals with some project management experience or education.
